Andrey Rublev extended his perfect start to the season to 8-0 after overcoming World No. 24 Alex de Minaur in a marathon five-set epic at the Australian Open on Thursday.
The Russian, who won the Adelaide International 1 title earlier this month, prevailed 6-4 6-7(7) 5-7 6-7(4) 6-3 6-0 in four hours and seven minutes.
Rublev will next face either Roberto Bautista Agut or Andy Murray in the third round.
