Southampton have signed left-back Charlie Taylor from Burnley on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old, who has been capped once by England, has joined the Saints on a free transfer after his contract at Turf Moor expired.

Taylor has made over 150 appearances for Burnley since joining the club from Leeds in 2017. He has also played for Fleetwood Town and Bradford City.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "Charlie is a very experienced player who will bring a lot of quality to our squad. He is a good defender and a good attacking threat, so I am very pleased to have him on board."

Taylor could make his debut for Southampton in their Premier League opener against Manchester United on August 7.

In other news, BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast were speaking to some England fans out in Germany earlier in the build-up to the game.

The fans were in good spirits and excited for the match. They said they were confident that England could get a result against Germany.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Harry Kane scoring for England.
